Whatta lotta stuff that have gone by!

The studying for prelims was really tough, nights extended into the mornings. A typical study night was from 8pm till 2am. I thought I had it all figured out, to study hard, finish the syllabus 2 weeks before the exams, then practise like mad. Hell no, I ended up barely completing the main topics. I even had to resort to spotting for econs physics and computing! I have to admit I wasn't as well prepared for prelims as I wanted to. All my talk during the Common Tests about how I will buck up for prelims, kinda got shot down :P
But anyway for my prelims I achieved a JC career-best in grades, though the grades were pretty average. This is what I got for my prelims:

Physics: E
Econs : B
Comp : D
Math : D
GP : 67% (AGAIN!!) B3

So I didn't fail ANYTHING, but I didn't do well either...sigh...I was pretty down for the results, for a day :P Back to normal after that! The feeling after prelims was one of estaticism, like a load of my should, the remaining one being the A's. But still, I was looking at 1 week of R&R. Yeah right, :P. I ended up taking 2 and a half weeks slacking around, playin Warcraft like mad. I was hooked to 3 Corridors like mad :P

School ended on the 9th of October 2003. It was a day when we all said our official goodbye to our school, our second home for the 2 years of 2002 and 2003. All our lectures, tutorials, PE lessons, slack time, canteen, library, Monday movie days, escapades. All these were going to be only a memory now. I will hold these dear to my heart :) So we had a (boring) farewell assembly, where Jansen and I tricked Dalan into thinking he was chatting with a chiobu and going to meet her somemore. That dude bought it hook, line and sinker lol! After that was a barrage of photo-taking. Our last photos in RJC uniforms, and for that matter, in Rafflesian uniform. In the canteen, I was thinking that that was the last time we were officially wearing the all-white uniform that I had been doing so for the past 6 years. How time flies... Oh by the way, it did not dawn unto me to bring a camera. Damn, wanted to take pics with some babyz in uniforms :P After that we went for a movie and pool :)

I was slacking so much after the prelims that I did not notice the sands of time slipping through my hands. Then I realised I hadn't much time left for my A's. Damn I really wanted to kick myself in the @ss for slacking like mad. I always start off with a beautiful plan, how everything will be on schedule, how I will be ready 3 weeks before the A's with ample time for practice.
"Procastination is the thief of time."
Yeah yeah! This bloody theif stole almost ALL my time for studying. I will start a night hyped up, determined to work from 8pm-4am. In the end, I will watched TV, ie. Monk, Whose Line Is It Anyway etc till 10, then play War till midnite, then work till 2am, get sleepy, then sleep. Dang, and when I worked, it was like 30 minutes, break 10 minutes, and the cycle went on. This went on till about a month before A's when I realised, kicked my own @ss, then bucked up.

Would it be too little too late? Sigh...stay tuned to find out!

Common Test Update:
Physics: 36% -> O
Maths  : 30% -> F
Comp  : 45% -> E
Econs  : 62% ->B   <---I like this one :P

Gp ----> 67% B3

I am such a doink man, BEOF...exact same range of marks as my promos last year, including GP!! lol~~

Going to study now, you know, I actually skipped going out to play pool to stay home to study! Playing? Watching TV? *zap* Wrong.....I'm studying.....and why? Cuz of the Common Tests 2....and when? Tomorrow......so how? Errrrp..........

OK, news on Youth Cup, after that game we lost by 4, we won our remaining 2 games...one by 30, the other by 10...managed to up my output both these games...so felt slightly better. The atmosphere for the games was really fun...we were like relaxing and fooling abit on the bench during the game...unheard of since I started playin ball =P Well, it wouldn't have mattered if we got into the second round, cuz the games will be played next week, which is....? Common Tests....what a bugger. Oh well *always look on the bright side of life*! :) Haha, imagine if we WON and made it into the 2nd Round and missed our games!! The teams we kicked out would have been fuming!! Now...back to work :)

Oh yeah!! I gotta tell you about this! I have developed a liking to the anime Ranma 1/2!! It's the cartoon about a boy, great fighter, who changes into a girl when wet in cold water! It's a comedy, fighting, slight romance anime which is outta this world. It's really famous, and been around for more than 15 years! *doink* really caught on a decade and a half late. :P AXN is showing it every weekday at 7pm, and it started on Monday, after the run of Samurai X (another rock-solid anime). Been hooked to it since. I'm currently downloading episodes I miss on IRC =) By the way, it's pronounce "ah-nee-may", not "air-ne-may" according to some :)

Well, today we played the J1s at RI....erm...it was kinda one-sided. The score at half-time was something around 35-6, our favour. So, Jiun Haur decided to stop the game. These are my thoughts on the J1s...
Ball control, the guards....well, they need a real guard. Not really there, and tend to be very easily pressured and lost the ball very easily.
Shooting, quite bad....easy chances missed, a lot.
Fighting spirit not really up to par as well, they kinda collapsed in the first 5 minutes of the game.
But, there is a positive side to it as well! They will be training their butts off in future, so expect them to improve a lot soon!! =) C'mon J1s!

Sigh...we lost our game today by 4 points...It was an extremely easy opponent, but we were too soft on the boards, way too soft. The forwards and guards didn't go in to help the centers get rebounds, resulting in a lot of easy 2nd and 3rd chances for the opponent. Oh well, gotta hope they screw up their next games =)

Hehe, got my PS2 back! Guess what? I modified it to Direct Play!!! YEEHAA!! Haha, so now I just need to put in the disc and play! No more booting up and swapping discs!! Haha, if only there was no Common Test, then I would'nt have to study and I can play PS2, computer and basketball all day long. *wishful* I really miss last year's June holidays, when the World Cup was on. I am very lucky indeed, to have gone through the experience of having a World Cup during the June holidays of my J1 life, where there's no pressure, and all fun. Still remember last years Cuppage Brothers of Jansen, Darren and me. (Darren Tan by the way, the tall Darren) Then we had new additions Jervis, and later Joshua. We would meet at Cuppage at like 11am in the morning, deliberate on what to bet on, make our bets, then go eat lunch. After that we will play pool till the afternoon game, watch it at the cafe outside and then after that we'll bet on the night's game. After playing LAN, we then go to Jervis' house to watch the night game and play some ball =) *Those were the days* (Nice song =P)

Ok, gonna play Warcraft soon! Hey, tonight...I am going to do what I havent done since Sec4. I'm burnin' the midnight oil, as in, totally burning it!! From 1am to tomorrow morning 9am. Yeehaa!!! I gotta tell you about the b*stard who sold me the PS2. I called him up yesterday to ask him for some help, whether my Action Replay catridge was faulty or inserted wrongly, and this b*stard gave me a whole load of meatcrap saying stuff like "oh, very outdated already", "cannot help you lah", "just bring to my shop lah", "this one really cannot say", and to top it off, he just said "bye" after all that. *anger meter at 99%* I could have gone straight to the shop today and sock him in his face =) Ooohh, that would feel so good. So today, my PS2 was brought to that shop, and that b*stard gave a lot of baloney. (face it, all that b*stard wants is to squeeze more money outta this) Then i told my mum to cheese him off. This was the plan, she went in, interested to modify my PS2 to direct-play, and made it seem like she was almost ready to commit. The b*stard said it'll take 5 days to modify it. (Crap again, only 2 hours max) (The shop is near OCBC main bank building, at the arcade nearby, so FYI, just don't go there in future) Cost? 150 bucks. My @ss, it's more like 120 bucks elsewhere. So, he was ready to take the PS2 to the back to pretend to start work, when my mum just took the PS2 from him, put it back in the bag, and walked out. She didn't want anything to do with this b*stard anymore. Woohooo!! So in the end, the PS2 was sent to Sim Lim for modification at 120 bucks. 2 days to go and I'll get it back!!

Whoa....had class party last night...then of all things that happened, my PS2 conked out halfway through!! Oh my goodness!! Then we ended up watching Pleasantville and even the 9pm chinese drama on Channel 8.....really *Hehh Hehh*.... But the food last night was nice. The pasta was good and Jamie's black pepper crab was pretty yummy as well. But no PS2......
Training later, but it's been raining since 8am just now. If this goes on, we might not get to train. They lost to a determined Spurs by a score of 88-77. The Nets were real good for the first 3 quarters. They led by as many as 12 and kept the lead till about 5 minutes left in the final quarter when they just broke apart. Poor shooting, costly turnovers, defence lapses and offence lock-downs were the bane of the Nets all series long, and these came back to haunt them...real bad.
But anyway, the Spurs really deserved the title. David Robinson, played super well, a really good end to cap his illustrious career. Tim Duncan, well what can I say, he was a monster. Deservedly, he won the Finals MVP as well, in addition to the Regular Season MVP he got earlier this year.
Here are the stats:TIM DUNCAN, Forward
Minutes Played: 46
Points:21
Rebounds:20
Assists:10
Blocks:8
Is that a monster or what??!!

Kudos to the Spurs...Well done to the Nets. They lost Game 5 yesterday, meaning they go to San Antonio for the remaining game or two. I so badly want them to win. Especially Kidd. He deserves the title so much because he single handedly dragged the Nets into the Finals. Imagine a 20-win team of 2001 getting into the Finals 2 consecutive years!! That in itself is a miracle. What's more, the current team is still largely the same as that of the 2001 team!!! The Spurs on the other hand have so many strong players. Between these 2, Nets really depend on blood and guts, so that's why I'm rooting for them. Game 6, most crucial of all games is played tomorrow at 8.30am Singapore time on ESPN channel 23.

Be sure to watch the match of the season!! C'MON NETS!!!!!!!

Key of the match? The same as the other 5. Stop Duncan.

This monster MUST be stopped

Another key of the match? Now's the time for me to start doing really serious work. Gambatte Darren......
Got my plan for today mapped out...gonna complete Partial Fractions Binomial Theorem, Trigo 1, Trigo 2, Vectors, Permutations & Computations as well as...Probability!! Six chapters of Maths to do today. Then I'll finish the remaining 3 tomorrow, and start on physics on Tuesday. Whoa...good one Darren....

Actually thinking ahead, I don't really have much time to complete my Common Test 2 material, so I better make up for lost time these few days. And this time I really have aims for CT2 :
Maths: A
Physics: A
Econs: B
Computing: B
Last time my results fell short of my aims...as in...really short. So, this time I gotta really work harder

Oh man, Utopia is down AGAIN for the second time in 2 days. Hope they can fix the server fast and stop those idiots carrying out the DOS attacks. Happened for like 7 times this age, and the downtimes is really irritating many players to the point they have given up the game. Sorry for the very long delay for my update =P It's been almost a month since my last update. Well, I updated 2 weeks ago, but the dumb webpage erased my whole blog which I spent half an hour on. =( Well, to the fervent fans of Darren's Blogspot, the updating is back! *happy*

I last left off after the SRJC match. The 3rd match of our season was against TJC, 10th May 2003. That one, we had to win to confirm our place in the quarters. Sadly, we played really badly and we lost to them by 2. I fouled out early in the 2nd quarter. =( 51-53. Everyone was really sad as our fate hung in the balance by a thread. We had to count on SRJC beating TJC by NOT MORE than 22 points. That match would be played on 17th May 2003, exactly a week after our fateful loss to TJ. So, as expected, we couldn't really concentrate in school the next week. =P Well, on Doomsday morning, we didn't go to watch the match. Gabriel and NS went. The rest stayed in school for training. (Wadya expect? No training? C'mon, Jiun Haur's in charge ya know? "Guys, we are running 3.2 today. Have fun..." *erp*) So at about 10am, the 2 came back. "Guys, prepare yourselves." Gabriel said. Tension mounted.... "We are playing 3 more games." Man, the relief on everyone's faces was so obvious. We were in the quarterfinals!!!! Hooray! Now, it was time for us to prove we deserved the place.

Next game, AJC, they were Group Champions, unbeaten, we lost 2 out of 3 first round games. Easy matchup for them you say? Guess again. We came out rip-roarin, huff-puffin, and raced to an early lead. But, we lost again ='( 51-53. It was a really close game and the turning point was when their CENTER shot a BASELINE 3-POINTER to bring up to a lead of one on us! Damn.... But anyways, we played very well. My 3s fell good that day. Hee, 15 points, my 2003 season high =P Now we had to beat HCJC and PJC to stand a chance of getting into the semis. I remember there was one point in the game, Kum Wing was dying and running back real slow on D. Then, Poh, our sec school coach, bellowed. "6 MORE MINUTES, KUM WING!!!! SUCK IT IN!!!!" Man that voice measured 9 on the reech-ter scale. And man you should have seen Kum Wing run! He was all over the place, runnin', jumpin', blockin', bangin'!! He even dived for loose balls! Heh, he even boinked his head on the floor in a somersault dive! But respeck to him, KW played really well. After the game, we ate some food. (Steak at the canteen....yummy....black pepper...Mmmm...) We then watched HCJC tear apart PJC by 33 points. C'mon RJ.....

*K, I'm tired now, gonna continue later =) Cya!!

The Basketball Season 2003 has started. The players: Gabriel, Jiun Haur, Kam Wing, Nansi, Zichao, Joshua, Suchang, Jervis, Justin, Marvin, Wei Bo and me. Among the 12, only 6 came from the RI programme. These 6, Gabriel, Jiun Haur, NS, Duzi, Wing and me are the only one with more than 4 years' experience in the competitive game. Compared to the other teams, especially the stronger ones, we in no way can say we possess better skills, higher accuracy nor do we have star players to carry us through difficult times. But what we lack in skill and finesse, we make up in 2 simple things. Blood and guts. A whole lot of guts. That's what brought us to the brink of qualifying for the quarter finals. We hustle, we are gung-ho, damn gung-ho, and we sweat like no other teams do to get the job done. I gotta say this, I am very proud and happy to play with this bunch of guys. Buddies, and fellow warriors on the wooden panels of the court.

As of now, we have played 2 games. Won 1, lost 1. We lost to SAJC last Saturday, 48-39. That game was the best we played this whole year. Everyone dug fully into his reserves, and squeezed all their ounces of energy to matcht the SA players, defending champs, and we got that respectable score. I remember the day before the match, how everyone was on tenterhooks, nervous about playing the country's reigning A division champions on Saturday. In the end, we actually matched them point for point, till the last quarter. It all boiled down to belief. We gave them too much respect. That was the game I found out about the power of guts. Skills, they were better, size, they were bigger, guts, we had more. Pity we could maintain it till the end. We were leading them for most of the first 3 quarters. Anyway, it was a good game, we lost with pride. One thing to note, though, was that SA did not have 2 of their star players playing. One wasn't on the team, the other was injured. So we can't say that they were at their full strength. But credit should still be given where it's due, good job guys.

Today's game was do or die. Lose and we are out, win, we stay alive. Hell yeah, stay alive we did. We won 47-35!! YEAH!! Our first competitive victory this year. I tell you, the taste of victory is so so sweet, I never want to lose it. People say, you have to taste the bitter of defeat before you can fully savour the sweet taste of victory. I tell you, it's completely true. After a whole year of losses, this win was the sweetest in recent memory. If we beat TJC this Saturday, we will be through to the next round, so come on RJ!! This match also showed us our vulnerabilities though. Easy baskets we should have converted, we missed. Free throw percentage wasn't pleasing. We need to improve on these. These aspects of our game can pour in another 10 or so points in a match. So guys, let's work hard on these. Haha, today I also scored my 2003 high I think. Not sure how many I got, but my points came from almost everywhere. Free throws, 3-pt, layups. Haha think I got a total of about 13 points. Hehe, pretty low right, but hey, still my season high. And the important thing is that the team won! That's the most important thing. I rather go scoreless and win. Though scoring more makes me happier.

Could see Jiun Haur wasn't really in the groove today. My fault. I have to involve him more in the plays, cuz I over played on the right side today, the side Gabriel was on. Also did not play the centers enough, but mainly that was because their centers were big. 3 1.85m dudes. Not easy for us on the boards nor the posting up. Kam Wing showed he was getting more fluid and into the groove with the rest of us.

Also, the coach has been sticking to using only 8 players these couple of games. Jervis, Justin, Marvin and Wei Bo have not seen playing time yet. Guys, please don't feel awful or disappointed, cuz I believe you guys are fully capable of contributing significantly too. Jervis' 3-pt shooting, Justin's center skills, Marvin's speed and shooting, Wei Bo's physical presence. I believe next game, you guys will see the playing time you deserve. So come on Marvin, continue with the psyching up. Always be ready to play. Who knows, you might even go out there and pour in 10+ points! I think the reason why coach doesn't play you guys is cuz the games are very tight and he doesn't want to take risks. And I think the next game will be a perfect chance for you to show what you can do. To get on the court though, truthfully, it might mean we must be up by quite a lot before coach will put you in. I assure you I will do the best of my ability in the next match to create chances for you guys to get court time =). So please continue believing in yourselves and continue practising and training your ball control skills, shooting etc. We got 4 more days, and that's a lot of time for you to squeeze out that much more improvement. So guys, jia u!

Whoa, I think this must be my most serious blog entry in history. Gimme a 5! So who's gonna say my blog is childish now, eh, Josh?

Glad you stayed tune! =P Haha, sorry I didn't update the blog sooner, as many of the fans of this site have repeatedly requested i post the heart-wrenching finale of the magnificent Battle For 7!!!!

Everyone was feeling sorry for Marvin, as it looked to be a total washout. The sentiments of the spectators were as follows, "Marvin did play hard." "Marvin, actually, did not bad." "Oh man....". BUT, lo and behold, a tiny spark within Marvin grew into a flaming roar of fire! THE GREAT MARVIN COMEBACK had begun!!!

Marvin's possession. Marvin backed down hard of Josh, and managed to jostle to a position 10 feet away from the basket. Turnaround jumper.....*ring ring*, call connected! SWISH!!! NOTHING BUT NET!!! Marvin scored despite having his sight eclipsed by Josh's dark palm! Sweet shot! --Josh 6, Marv 3.

Marvin had caught up to half of Josh's score, but 3 points is a total of at least 6 changes in possession, and Josh would have 3 of the possessions. It meant that Josh just needed one shot to put the game away. Josh continued with his shimmyin' and his jammin', his fakin' and his jumpin', his grindin' and his spinnin', but nooooooooooo, he just could not get the shot off well. *clang* The ball hit the rim with an embarrassing richochet, and Marvin jumped with his MegaJump to claim the ugly rebound. Without hesitation, Marvin brought the ball out of the 3-pt line, then drove in. Was it a clear path to the hoop? NO! Joshua had his wingspan flared to protect the precious basket. With no way pass, and the spectators egging Marvin on with their Dumb Wave, Marvin launched another hopeful shot at the hoop. The ball drew a very pronounced arc, spinning, spinning, spinning, *ka-doing*, and went in off the back of the rim! Marvin was staging his MegaRally!!! --Josh 6, Marv 4.

Josh's ball again. This time, the flare was burning in Josh's eyes. No more games, he thought, I'm gonna take the 'M' outta you Marvin. With a deft spin move, he shook off Marvin's rooted defence, and saw the whole sea part for his way to the hoop. OPEN LAYUP! Sorry Marvin, but I'm taking the 7! Joshua must have been thinking that. *dok* The ball bounced lightly off the board, and onto the rim. Everyone watched with suspense as the ball rolled scintillatingly around the hoop. Jiun Haur's mouth was as big as a cave. Josh's was bigger. Was Marvin doomed? Refusing to give up, he ran towards the basket, gripping any last hope he had that the ball will spin out. And then, was it a gust of wind, was it Marvin's will, no one knows, but the ball ROLLED OUT OF THE HOOP, landing right into Marvin's surprised arms!! Marvin was so lucky he would have jacked any bet he put that day! Marvin brought the ball outta the 3-pt line, took one step in, and shot. You guessed it. SWISH!!!!! OH MAN!!! WHAT A COMEBACK!!!!!! The court erupted with scenes of jubilation from Marvin's supporters. Meanwhile, Jiun Haur's was laughin' his head off, his mouth still big as a cave. Josh's was even bigger. --Josh 6, Marv 5.

Marvin had really staged the comeback of his life!! What courage, what determination, what devotion to No.7! Josh's ball, he shimmied, he fake, he pumped, he pumped fake, Marvin soaked it all up. It looked like Josh would screw up again, and Marvin might have a chance to even the series. Then, the fatal mistake! Josh faked right, Marvin got duped, Josh went left, Marvin got stranded, Josh had another open path to the hoop! Would he MUB again? This time, Josh jump-stopped underneath the rim, and shot the underbasket. HOPE......hope that it misses, these words must have torn a path through Marvin's mind. *dok* *swish* Jersey-set. Game won. The VICTOR, Joshua, the LOSER, Marvin. --Josh 7, Marv 5.

Well, it was a really entertaining match. A very close one, one that saw Marvin play the one-on-one of his life. He came so close, but finished yet so far. Poor Marvin, he was left with No.14.....

*And so, Josh won. But the fact Marvin pushed the game to its limits really gave everyone a good thrill. Was it the end? Well, No.14 ain't so bad. =) After that, Nansi and Zicao started another battle for No.10. No, it wasn't to be decided by another one-on-one, but by 3-pointers. But judging by their 3-pt shooting, I won't be able to report on that match till June. Heh heh. Signing off.....The Great Battle For 7. Good night everybody.*

And so, it came. The match everyone was waiting for. The match that dominated headlines on Darren's Blogspot. The match....between......Marvin and Joshua!!
The sky was peppered with grey clouds that complemented the rugged, hostile court floor of RJC. With a slight wind, the leaves that littered the half-court were swept away. The time was 7pm. And so the stage was set. The BATTLE FOR 7.

The characters:
Jersey-holder -> Joshua aka SPARK PLUG
Height: 183cm
Weight: 70kg
Strengths: Dribbling, Hook Shots

Jersey-contender -> Marvin aka MEGAMARVIN
Height: 179cm
Weight: 63kg
Strengths: Tyco Power

Prematch review: Things did not look too good for Marv, as clearly, in the physical aspect, Marv gave up 4cm in height and 7kg in weight. Many punters had put their money on Josh dominating the match, with Marv pumping in a basket or two. Moreover, Marvin had just sprained his ankle in a clash with Joshue during the training 5v5 match that ended training. Joshua then said:"Thanks Marv, the No.7 is mine." Minutes later, Marvin found out his ankle was not sprained at all. He got faked by his ankle. He came up and ready to battle for his No.7. Would Marvin triumph over a fake sprain, and Joshua to finally lay his hands on No.7? Stay tuned to find out.

The BATTLE FOR 7 was to be decided in 7 points. And possession was to be switched after every made basket.

The match started off with a 3-point shot to determine who would get the first possesion. Marvin shot, and missed. Possession Joshua. Joshua then started to monkey around with the money, his lips brimming with confidence. Marvin tried really hard to follow the jerky movements of Joshua, but alas, 30 seconds into the game, with a great shimmy by Joshua, Marvin got wrong-footed and gave Joshua an easy path to the hoop. Joshua then taunted Marv by doing some dumb rapper jabbin' --Josh 1, Marv 0.

Possession Marvin. Marvin tried really hard to break through Josh's defence, but the gloving was just too much, unable to break through, Marv had to take a hopeful shot. Nothing but board. The two then traded a few empty possessions. Then, Marv backed Josh down the baseline, and with a deft turnaround jumper, launched the ball to the hoop and everyone watched with awe as the ball spinned around the hoop before dropping through the net. WHAT A SHOT! Marvin "flushed" that jumper. Marvin then broke into a humongous smile and took the ball to the 3-pt line. That smile evaporated when we told him it was "loser's ball". --Josh 1, Marv 1.

Marvin's shot had everyone on tenterhooks, and we thought he had a decent chance to make a game out of it. But Joshua shattered any hope of a possible spirited Marvin fight as he drained the next few balls. Throughout this agonizing period (for Marv), Marv got lobang-ed a couple of times, got blocked, got gloved and just could not break through the gloves of Josh. Joshua also had to work a little for his points as Marvin started to bring out his physical play. There was once when Josh got fouled when shooting, but the refs waved play on. Joshua cut, slashed and shot Marvin to pieces. --Josh 4, Marv 1.

Then, against the run of play, Marvin made the Hoop Of The Match! Stuck at the top of the key, Marvin had no choice but to take a very tough fadeaway, and with one hand, he launched a beautiful rainbow. Swish. The crowd went "ring, ring!" --Josh 4, Marv 2.

Just as Marvin got some momentum going, Josh came up and shot Marv's hopes to pieces with 2 cruel baskets, a slight fadeaway close quarter shot and a layup. Marvin's face became as dark as the sky as he stared defeat in the eye. Jersey-point. --Josh 6, Marv 2.

And so.....would Joshua run away with the jersey, or would Marvin stage the comeback of his life to rip it away from Joshua? The heart stopping finale, tomorrow on Darren's Blogspot! Stay tuned!!

Whoa I just checked and saw that the last time I updated this blog was 6 days ago! =) So much for daily updates, well anyway I guess this blog won't really be getting my daily attention, it's more of a thing I'd do if I was waiting for something else. =)
SO, to fill you in on what's gone on the past week

9th April Thursday => END OF COMMON TESTS!!!! Haha, after the Physics paper we diao-ed Jeff and Zeerong for a while before heading outta school. Those poor dudes had to wait for another SIX hours before Operation Happy Freedom started. Mwuahahaha, so we went on our way to town. Couldn't really make up our mind what we wanted to do. We = Allton, Jansen, Jamie and ME. Marvin was with us, but as he did not have a CV shirt, he couldn't play pool, so we went to join his classmates at City Hall. So we went to Taka SEOUL GARDEN to eat lunch. Whoa, lotsa food, and I ate alot. But hey, guess what......Jamie ate more! She made this noodle and egg and something-else and put it in the sizzler, haha, like a chef, but the food she made was pretty alright. After that we went to play pool at Lucky Plaza, where I lost to Jamie with a paltry score of 3-0. WTH.....she was how lucky, the thumb and her cue was shifting like crazy then *pok* she still potted the balls. *doink* Jamie is super lucky man... After that we bros (Jamie went for training) played some arcade where I got a 60 ticket jackpot on some pirate ship steering game. But Jansen got a 225 ticket JACKPOT where we tossed a coin through some hoops in a machine, and the coin went through ALL 3 hoops!! Exchanged the tix for bubble blowers, a deck of cards and some lollipops. The lollies were nice, cola flavour. (^.^)

10th April Friday => Nothing much, just slacked at home in the morning, training in the afternoon, slept early that night.

11th April Saturday => Training in the morning, everyone was shagged out...but there was no afternoon sparring so Bay and I went for pool, then LANed with Jansen, Kailun, Varun etc. Haha had lotsa fun, especially me and my shotgun bruddas in CS, Jervis and K-lun. DAMN FUNNY!!! Especially the mansion map!! After that, watched soccer that night, Man U won 6-2, tore Newcastle apart, NICE! Go Man U!!!

12th April Sunday => Sunday is happy rest day..... (^.^)

TODAY=> Got back papers. Maths, F, could have gotten 'O' if I had another 1/2 mark =( Econs C, and GP B3, my compo wasn't quite well done, but oh well, always look on the bright side of life. It's *just* a test. So to all those who didn't do well, it's not your entirely your fault, it's cuz this test is not important enough to push you to study to the max, you'll pull through anyhow =) I'm hoping my Darren's Guide To Passing Physics works, tomorrow is Getting Back Physics Day. Also, today, during PE, when I was practising my standing broad jump, my PE pants split. Stupid lousy low quality pants.

And......*drumroll* the highlight of the week, which I shall give you a preview on, is the magnificent, one and only........BATTLE FOR 7!!!!!!!!
OK, to give you a lead up on this event, I shall talk about last Saturday 3 days ago. We got our jerseys that day, and Marvin wanted No.7, and Joshua had 7, so Marvin graciously took No.12 after that, but when we called Justin, we found out that he wanted No.12, so Marvin, after some negotiation, gave Justin the No.12. I had, as a stupid idea, suggested Marvin took on Justin one-on-one for the No.12 Jersey, but since JGan just had his butt sliced, I think Marvin decided to fight for his No.7, which was now in the hands of Joshua. Hence the date was set, the venue was set, and the competitors are ready to lock horns in the magnificent, one and only.............BATTLE FOR 7!!!!!!!!!!
The magnificent, one and only........BATTLE FOR 7 shall take place on THE RUGGED, THE GREY, THE HOSTILE COURTS OF RJC on THE 16TH DAY OF THE 4TH MONTH OF THE 2003RD YEAR AFTER CHRIST!!!!!
Featuring.......the No.7 Jersey-Holder, THE ONE, THE ONLY, THE BLACK..............SPARK PLUG aka Joshua!!!!!!! And on the other end of the court, featuring............the No.7 Jersey-Contender, THE ONE, THE ONLY, THE DARK, THE HUNKY.................MEEEEEEEEGAAAAAMAAAARRVIIIIIIIIIN aka Marvin!!!!!!!!!!!
Who shall emerge victorious in this earth-shakin', slam-bangin', wham-slappin' battle for the coveted No.7 Jersey??? LT and TS damn dangerous....especially since the virus supposedly stays on surfaces for a few hours. Imagine some sneezed onto a TS chair. Then Allton sat on it, then scratched his butt, then dug his nose......DING DONG, wham bam oh man!!! Last time (during March) when they announced the break it was about 5pm, now I'm hoping again....but as always, look on the bright side of life, at least school's rather fun. Exclude the Common Tests though =(

Just got back from training....whew, kinda tired. Kinda full, ate ban mien. I dunno why, but I really love it. Haha, I dunno what to write about now =P

Hmm.....Gotta study for Physics. I think I'll do that in a while. Gonna play abit first.

OH! Forgot to mention, Squashie's got her BLOG up!! It's not under blogspot. She made this website herself with *ahem* A LOT of help from yours truly. But it really rocks, except for the overload of Minwoo and Kpop stuff. But it's real wicked stuff she's got, a very cheerful page. Check it out man! By the way, squashie is Zixuan. Umm...she's from S06B if you dunno. Takes Jap. Plays squash. Hence the name Squashie. Zixuan's Page

The school break is extended another couple of days. JC students extra 2 days, secondary school a week, primary school 10 days. Man.... haha well it's ok, but I was hoping that the break could be extended by another week, cuz I want more time to train my ball. (^.^) *Always look on the bright side of life* Heh at least its better than nothing. Just was thinking back, and whoa, actually it has been like a whole month break! March holidays + Common Tests 3 days + 10 Break + 2 extended days. 3 weeks! And they're only cutting off a week of June's holidays. Haha in a sense we made a profit of one wekk ;P I like that hehe.

Just bought Command and Conquer Generals, it's a really solid game! Check it out! There are 3 unique sides. Air Power USA, Ground Mama China and Funky Funny GLA, some middle eastern terrorist group that cracks me up everytime I play them. The GLA is really primitive, but holds its own against the other 2 superpowers. In the gam storyline, USA & China are GANGING UP to fight the GLA!! Can you imagine the world's 2 most powerful countries allying to combat a single terrorist group?? Oh man super doink right?Command & Command Matrix

NBA: Damn...the Bucks keep winning, the Wizards keep losing, looks like Jordan's career is going to end in 7 games. Washington's playoff hopes are more or less over. Really sad for Jordan, he is still GOOD but the other Wizards really suck! They keep dragging him down and play like crap at times, no hunger no spirit no nice! Sigh, great courage Jordan, you did your best, but you were let down by a bunch of overhyped 20 plus year olds who should be playing in the CBA or NBDL.So much promise, so little fulfilment. Oh well *shrug* I'm going back to my Lakers next year.

Oh well, these holidays are a blessing in disguise. With the extra free time, I can play a lot more ball nowadays. Starting to find my stroke back (^.^) PLaying for 5 hours everyday! Haha, yesterday met the J3s for a game at bedok in the morning, funny to see them bald! HAHAHA!! Pretty good to see Jervis, Gabriel, Justin, SuChang, Joel, Nansi again! But Justin and SuChang looked a bit rusty though...c'mon guys , play more ball :) It's a good time now to train up, even though we don't have training.

My computer is still kinda screwed, keeps restarting. It said my ICQ and Kazaa had problems, so I fixed them, but to no avail. Oh man.... (>_<)" Think I might have to do a full system recover, which means ALL my files and stuff are gonna be wiped out....better start backing them up. :) *doink*

Sorry bout not updating this these past few days, very lazy to type a lot of stuff heh! :)

Haha, I also just introduced Neopets to Squashie, and she seems to really like it! She challenged my pet to a fight. Heh I beat her in one blow :) Patience squashie, patience... haha

OK, gonna watch some TV now, cya around (^.^)

I guess everyone knows by now, no school till next Monday!!!! 10 days of 'holidays'! But, alas, still got physics the 2nd day after skool starts... =( *whistle*
It's very sad though, that so many got sick and 2 succumbed to the illness..

Damn, update on Common Tests:
Econs: Was pretty ok, but I'm not sure how well I'll do
Maths: Itz all over... I prepared quite hard for it, but the questions that came out were unfortunately the parts of the notes I didn't pay much attention to. Sigh, woe is me...F, for sure....unless all I attempted got correct, which is like jackpotting. Oh man....
BUT..... *always look on the bright side of life*

Haha, juz finished playing warcraft 3. My computer is fixed!! Good good! Cuz several days ago, my com started switching off on its own after a while. I thought it was a virus, but the scan results came clean, and I was at my wits end. Then today I called the technical assistance helpline and got it fixed! The problem was that my com was set to switch off automatically when the temperature of the CPU exceeded 90 degress Celcius. My com temperature was about 95 degrees, so it kept switching off. Then I set the auto shut down temperature at 120 degrees and it worked! No sudden shut downs. Then...my conky com started restarting on its own when I played Warcraft or Battlefield...damn....then, just for kicks, I went to download a patch for my video card and installed it. LO AND BEHOLD!! It worked!! It even got my Kali working right! I can almost kiss my computer now. Yesterday I was kicking it. Sorry Compy(his name, my com).

Though I'm a free-thinker, I wish to extend a hope that the virus will stop being a menace, and let all those infected recover.

NBA news: GOOD NEWS! Wizards won today while the Bucks lost!! This puts the wizards up by half a game for 8th spot in the Eastern Conference. It was scary stuff, the wizards were down, and fought back into the game. They had given up a 12 point lead earlier. The Buck trailed for most of the game, but came up with an amazing 41-point quarter! The Bucks were still beaten, by 5. WHEW!
Also, the Wizards had just defeated the Trailblazers yesterday! Portland was on a huge run and looked to squash the Wizzies, but MJ came up with a good game, Lue stepped up, wham bang slam, action jam, Wizards win. Good. (^.^)

An intense game between the Wizards and the Sonics

Today was my Computing Common Test Paper.... (^.^)
HOWEVER, the damn Computing Paper was really rather screwed up. All the notes *that* teacher gave us didn't come out. End up with a question on some processor-printer protocol features. Erp, gou4 ler4, rather not in the notes, rather in deep sh*t :P Then SolidWorks was no better, I mean, c'mon, how do they expect us to come up with 3D designs through words?? *doink*
Tomorrow is Econs, and I'm now still on National Income Accounting....*doink*.... and I haven't done Theory of Income Determination! Gonna chiong later!

If you wanna look for a place to relax, go to Joe Cartoon for some R&R (^.^)

Back to work.

By the way, Wizards lost again!! That means they are one game behind the Bucks for 8th spot in the Eastern Conference. Gotta write it over again...
Sorry bout the delay in updating, been pretty busy these couple of days. Friday nite played Warcraft, Sat nite came home late, Sunday nite playing Warcraft, so here I am at 2am writing my blog.
Just now played basketball at BCC. Joel's back, and he got game, not to mention a wicked handle now. Looks like I gotta retire the joke about him not having a "License to Dribble". (^.^) Just now, I played pretty ok, seems like I'm slowly getting back to my pre-torn ligament game. The ankle's not that bothersome now, and I could cut properly and shoot faster, more accurately than a week ago. Mmm....swish swish swish...that sound breathes life into my game :)
Haha, I left school at 10.30am on Friday, for the Adidas Expo Sale. Actually, I went to school only to watch a movie. Pleasantville. It was really interesting, and there was this part where the undefeated basketball team practised, and they made every shot. If only i could do the same....haha oh well, only hard work brings about accuracy and skills, no such thing as a super basketball power, even though I'd love to have such a gift. *always look on the bright side of life*
At the Sale, I got myself a pair of T-Mac 1s for $60, a set of slippers for $20, a shirt for $10, a towel for $5 and RollerBlades for $120!!! Dirt cheap!! Whoa, saved myself over $200 if I had bought these at normal sports stores. The blades were retailing at $249 at Queensway when I saw them last December!

NBA : Yay!! The Wizards won today, again, and the Bucks lost today, again! This means the Wizards are tied with the Bucks for the 8th and final Playoff spot in the Eastern Conference! And the Magic played well today, and Macgrady was superb. There was one move he jumped from on side of the lane to the other, nearly hitting his head on the backboard and launching his shot just inches before landing. Needless to say, SWISH!! That guy got game.

T-Mac soaring for his spectacular move

Haha, now I shall introduce you to my Asia Top 5. These 10 weeks have flashed by in a snap of my fingers. I remember the 1st day of school, seeing the sea of colours which the J1s brought to the very boring white and green of RJ. I remember the first weeks where we were as slack as the J1s. I remember lamenting about zero RI ballers coming to RJ... Man, time shifts quickly and waits for no one. Now, it is almost season, almost Common Test, almost serious work, almost the end of the carefree JC life, and almost the start of serious life......for most people. (^.^) I'm gonna take it with a smile and a shrug :) *always look on the bright side of life* *whistle* Damn I love that song.

It's 1.45am Friday now...really early yeah? Later I'll be going to the Expo for the Adidas (All Day I Dream About Sports) Sale! Whoa! With T-shirts going at the price of $10, it's a steal! Gonna leave school early at about xx am. With Jervis, NS and Duzi. Just chatted with Squashie, and she said she was going too! Haha, maybe we'll have half the school at Expo tomorrow! (^.^)

In today's NBA game, Karl Malone scored his 36,000th point!!!! I got damn a lotta respeck for that dude even though I don't like the Jazz. Man, he's in great physical shape, even at the old age of 39! He has scored 5000 more points than Jordan. 'Nuff said. *RESPECK* Oh, by the way, he scored 40 points in the match. Kinda good eh? Stockton was credited with the dime(assist) that led to Malone's Milestone.

Malone's 36,000th point

Another picture of happiness for you (^.^) Enjoy...

For those who are feeling stressed and wish to take a break, please visit Joe Cartoon for laughs. This time, vs PJC. They were'nt that strong, but we still played very badly. Sigh...to think earlier this year, we still had a smooth offence running. Now, all the confidence, accuracy and spirit has dwindled. I must rekindle the fire in me to start playing properly again. *always look on the bright side of life* but then again, I learnt something from the game, and I feel more into the game nowadays. Gonna play more CC ball these days to get into the groove. Haven't played for almost a month.
Oh yeah!! The Wizards won in today's game!! It was such a thriller! When AndR and Jansen were in the Com Lab this morning, we tuned into NBA courtside live and all just looked at the play-b-play commentary. Man that was cool! Wizards won by one!! Now they are only 1.5 games from playoff contention. Jordan is still fighting valiantly despite his 40-year-old body's limits. The hunger...the will to win....I will learn from him. Yeah man! Salute to Jordan! By the way, Stackhouse had 31, including 15 of 15 from the free throw line!

Jordan on his way to 23 points

Hmm...had GP test today, it was quite challenging, but on the whole OK....but I dunno if I can get an A2. Don't even know if I can get a B3. It's one of those times where you don't feel flustered by the difficulty of the questions, but at the same time, you still are not sure if your answer is correct, as in it could go either way, with your answer tiptoeing on a knife's edge. Great use of metophors yeah?

Something for you to cheer up your day! Hey you know what?! I dunno why I'm so happy now! My aim for it is *drum roll* A2!!! I was hovering around the B3 mark the whole of last year...so I'm getting sick of it already..so c'mon A2.... (^.^) The thing about the school is that they put the test right AfTEr ScHOoL. YeSh...@t 1.30 pm AFtEr sChOOl.... but I'm still gonna do my best.
Then, also, tomorrow's got another highlight. Game vs PJC. It's showtime!! Right after the test, the game commences. I want to do well in this match. The past few were really crappy for me...I'm starting to itch for a good game now....*GRRR* *pumped up*
And, did you know... that I broke my record yesterday for most blogs in one day?? See below? 3 blogs in one day!!! WHOA!!! Convinced of my will to update my blog regularly?
Today, the guys also visited my boards, and they laughed and laughed.....*boink*....kick their asses man....
Anyway, late now (though very early by everyday standards), there's the test tomorrow, so I gotta turn in early. G'nite guys! :)

A pic for you all to savour... :)
Jordan is leading the Wizards against the Magic tomorrow. C'mon wizards!! I want Jordan and Co to make the playoffs. Last time they met, Jordan poured in 32 points. New look, new pictures, new features!! Now, I'm gonna make good my promise to post regular blogs from now on. Notice the word 'Netshorcher' above? Yeap, that's another nickname i have. That's my AndR Nick. AndR is made up of Jervis, nicked HangMan, Joshua, nicked SparkPlug. Cool yeah? (^.^)
It's one-thirty in the morning on a March Monday...and I have another 5 days of school to go till the one-week March holiday break. The Common Tests follow up the holidays, so I won't call it a break, more like a crammin' period. My GP test is this Wednesday though...nothing much to prepare, just have to go thru my essay planning. Then I have a game vs PJ after that, hehe dunno if I can concentrate during the test :)
My ankle is kinda OK now, shouldn't be much of a problem....the main cruz for me to to get back to full match fitness. Apart from a few niggling pains in my back, I should be alright in time for the season, which starts April 2nd. We got SA, TJ and SR in our group. A realistic shot into the 2nd round, meaning we won't meet SA in the 2nd round, meaning we can have a good fight to get into the Final Four! :) Cmon man!! I'm gettin' pumped out typing this...really feel like going downstairs now to play ball ;P
I just found that there is A LOT to cover for the CTs, man..... oh well, you know the song *always look on the bright side of life* *whistle* I just have to buck up and chiong :)
I can't explain why...but this days I seem to have this sort of high-spirited feelings, like I look forward to everything :) Anyway I love this feeling, it's much better than feeling blue and gloomy...so that's why I'm not going to get too flustered up over the CTs, you know, take it as it comes. (^.^)
Hey I got a new feature for the blog, which I spent the last hour redesigning and adding features. The new feature is a message board. You can click on the "You wanna make a comment?" link below to post anything you wanna say about my blog. Feel free to do so! Crap if you want, but try to censor any vulgarities k? Otherwise I'll kick your @ss, like this, see? Haha I feel good!! Tomorrow's (later today) is a 5.10pm day.....*whistle* that's 9 hours in school....wicked! :) Better go catch some ZZs now....g'nite sweet dreams!

Sup again! :) Hey check it out, I got a new nick for me! SQDarrenChua! You noe what that means?? Heh heh, SQ is the flight number for Singapore Airlines Flights, so it means......I CAN FLY!!! MWUAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! Yeap, flying with my 20 inch vertical. Well I'm not sure if it's still 20inches now, my ankle still slightly swollen and hurts every time I jump. Maybe my vert is 17 inches now?? Well, we had a really bad game against NYJC on Thurs, where I totally lost my handle of the ball. Couldn't even execute a decent crossover, passing also like poop. Oh well, *always look on the bright side of life*, I juz have to view this as an 'off' day and work on my handles even more. Gotta chiong my shooting and dribbling and one-on-one skills. These days I see a lot of one-on-one opportunities, but I still don't have the confidence to take the dude on.
Hey, you noe other than dunking, my other dream, hopefully more reachable, is to dribble a ball between my legs on the ledge at the underpass where we have to walk to get to the MRT station. The ledge is about 7~8 cm wide, that doesnt give me a lot of room, but I'll do it. Hopefully.
Just had training today. The type that your legs are burning throughout the whole session. After 2.4 (11.50) my left calf was tensing up and burning, then still had to do 5 courtruns, whoa man, the ankle was nearly busted. But we had this one-on-one drill. Made me realise I gotta work on my one-to-one.
Anyways maths test on Wed, I'm going for a good pass (B?), which means I'll be chionging Maths tmr, Monday and Tuesday. But I dunno why with so many cheerful people in our class, we still have quite a lotta sad people. They look okae on the outside, but they feel really blue inside. If you're feelin' blue, I suggest you listen to this song: "always look on the bright side of life" If you can't find the song, look me up. I got plenty of funny songs to make you smile (hopefully).

Update on my basketball, I pulled a ligament a month ago, now I'm much better and hoppin around, but I got laid off for 3 weeks, need some time to shake off the rust and burn some hoops. The coach has chosen 10 of the 12 for the squad already, leaving the last 2 positions to be competed for. The 10 are:
1. Gabriel > Forward >> Steady shooter. Good handle. Baseline threat. Terror on the fast break. Speedy as a squirrel.
2. Jiun Haur > Forward >> Streak shooter. Good handle. Sharp on the outside. Threat when slashing. Very sneaky.
3. Nansi > Forward >> Speedy Gonzalez. Freakin fast. Mid range shooter. Lightning slasher. But find 3 point shot 'too far'. "tai4 yuan3 ler4" AKA NS.
4. Zichao > Forward >> Shoot, bang, slash. He'll make you pay. Good handle, sharp shooter. Also finds 3point shot 'tai4 yuan3'. AKA Duzi.
5. Kam Wing>Center >> Tall. Retainee. Misses layups alot. Tall. MUBs alot. Tall. 20 years old. Tall. And dangerous, thats the center I like workin with. AKA Gao Lao.
6. Me
7. Jervis > Guard >> Top of the key long range bomber. Confusing handles. Analyst and disciple of my Darren's Moves. Improving at an alarming rate. ANDR Bro.
8. Justin > Center >> Not very tall. But big. Low post menace. Strong on the boards. Bangs like a freakin' truck. Boxes out like a box. Long hair.
9. Joshua > Center >> Tall. Got an arsenal of cool moves. Unpredictable, strong and accurate. Thick lips. BIG rebounder. I enjoy workin with him. ANDR Bro. Black.
10.Su Chang> Center >> Tall. Accurate shooter with B-52 range. Silky skills, but can be montrous when peeved. Me got good chemistry with him. Thinks he's Jay Chou.

Tomorrow's the Sentosa thing, not bad this week, cuz I pon school on Monday to watch NBA All Star game, then Wed was holiday, then tomorrow go beach. Oh yeah bruddas! I love this week!
Tomorrow's Valentine's Day. AKA Friendship Day..... AKA Friday, aka NBA, aka, wanna pon, aka cannot cuz mousie said can't (very fiercely)
Anyway, have a very happy Valentine's to all, those with GFs/BFs, enjoy yourselves, those that don't, start lookin for one. (muz work veri hard)
2) Reach a vertical jump height of 27 inches
3) Increase my 3-pt range to 27 feet (about 7 steps behind the arc)
4) Improve my dribbling.
5) Raise my average shooting %

Life:
1) This one is easy....TO BE HAPPY!!! I was like, damn, training on New Year's Eve??? Haha, but anyway the training was fun!! Well, except for the running 2.4km...but the full court drills were super cool. We were gunning up and down the court at full speed!! Whoa!! Then we had a friendly game vs the Sec3s. Our team is still quite weak, cuz we beat them by less than 15 points I think. The les experienced players really need to catch up fast, but I'll do my best to help out. So any problems, just look for me ok? :) I'll do my best to help you out!

So I'll try my best tomorrow. I hope there will be no lessons on Thursday and Friday. Initially I tot that school would reopen on the 6th of Jan, ie next monday. Why must Singapore be so stingy with 2 days of school?? Oh well * smile * you know the song above?? Lets sing that again!!
Haha, so a very Merry Niw Year to all who read this blog!! Have fun k? Whew, just got back form Msia. Had A LOT of fun over there, with swimming, xbox, basketball, eating and fooling around occupying my time! :)
I gotta tell you this man, I ate a WHOLE LEG OF LAMB!! It was the Xmas eve dinner, and there was lamb, turkey, apple roasted ham, bread and butter, salad. Man, the lamb and the mint sauce was magnificent. :P I added a little ketchup while eating the lamb though :P then there was the ham with raisin sauce...hmm....sweet!! Man that was one really nice feast~!! And to top it all off, I had a few glasses of red wine which complemented the lamb very well. Very yummy. Then on Xmas day I got quite a few presents. Hmm...well, there were shirts, clothes, the usual stuff. :( it seems like the older you get, the smaller presents you get. Sigh I miss the days when I got action figure and remote controlled cars for Xmas. Haha, I evened got a couple tubes of bubble gum from my cousin!!
Tomorrow got training...then theres a game against Singapore Poly tomorrow nite. They, according to my poly friends, are strong. Well this will be a real test for our team, especially with the new dudes. Gonne gun them down tomorrow!! YEEHAAA!!!! (^.^)
Haha, chalene just taught me the pikachu face not long ago. Let me show u: >>> ^(o'-'o)^ cute rite? Haha, (^.^)

Uh oh... I keep forgetting to update this blog, even though I said several days back that I was gonna do this blog properly...but...oh well, here I go again, this time, I'm slightly more serious bout updating this blog. Man, i just read Zhu's blog and its really good. Aww man, I'am a computing student and this girl is whipping me at HTML, mabbe thats why I got an O for computing. Whoa, but Zhu's really philosophical yeah? A lot of powerful words in her blog. Hey Zhu! Respeck marn!! I'll try to make my blog almost half as good as yours, k?
Starting to miss doing the 'teaching kids bball' community service. Man it was real fun being with those kids. They were not easy to handle, but their cuteness and cherubic smiles really warm your heart. I kinda felt sad when I had to leave and this little girl asked me if I was coming back. I told her that I wont be doing so, and her disappointed look kinda made me want to go back the very next day.I think I'd like to do this thing again in future for my CIP. Its veri meaningful to bring smiles to kids. (^.^)
Haha, I'm in Msia now on holiday, watching my cuz play his Xbox, man it rox. I gotta get me one of those babies. I think Jamie has an Xbox, yeah? Hmm...or wassit a Game Cube? My PS2 is starting to becoming outdated, and PS3's only coming out in 2005. Rite now the Xbox is DA DUDE with the hottest hardware on the market.
Man speaking of this, I remembered theres Mrs. Lim's econs essay to do. I forgot the topic, can someone sms me the topic, I try to do in Msia. I'll try to try. Somemore got Mrs. V's homework to do. *sorry bout being so formal about their names, but i cant take the risk, no matter how remote they might stumble upon this blog and see their names like eg. Veluri's or Guat Ching etc*
Hmm...thinking of what else to say.....aiyah, sorry bout the OBS story, I think most people know about my OBS xperience, so I need not say more about it. :)
Oh! I gotta tell you bout my birfddae 'celebration' I had PT training in the afternoon. Under Jiun Haur's intensive training, I ran 2.4km, 4 court runs, free throw sprinting etc. Wah lau.....PT on my birddae.... :( Then, aww man...I had a choice b/w going to Marche wif my familie and going out wif my beloved classmates, as Chalene put it...
I chose to go wif my lovely classmates, couse i was touched they actually plan a celebration. Okay, here goes my " Happiness On December 10th" story...

After a very tiring training, I went to meet my beloved classmates at City Hall interchange. Whoa...Tony, Chalene, Jamie, Zhu and Liling were there. *Touched* They came. Then my beloved classmates told me they had a very special present for me. $) whoa, could it be...?? Then my beloved classates passed me this really cool looking TOILET BRUSH. Whoa, I was holding a TOILET BRUSH in the middle of City Hall MRT, how good is that? My beloved classmates then wished me happie birfdae...haha very happy yeah? I managed to squeeze the BRUSH head into my bag. Lucky my bag was big enuff, but there was still the stick...but i also managed to get Liling to hold it for me. Whoa, so i managed to not look like a dum dum after all!. Woohoo! After that we went to Kenny Rogers for dinner. The food was nice, even though half my plate of food went into Allton's tummy. Jansen also showed up and passed me a Fifa 2003 PS2 game! That was the best present of the day. Hey but girls, I really happy wif the TOILET BRUSH. I really like it. Cuz I play with my swords at home that time also can pretend the stick is a spear, damn cool u noe? The stick can be lengthend and shortened...makes a really good spear. The BRUSH head was given to my maid. She said it would be very good for cleaning the toilet. I also got a teddy pig in a milk bottle, very nice, thanks guys! (^.^) .

*To my beloved classmates who bought the TOILET BRUSH, thanks a lot. :) especially Zhu and Jamie who bought it at Ghim Moh and brought it ALL the way down to City Hall to pass it to me so i could hold a TOILET BRUSH in the middle of a crowd. Haha, buts its really nice! Thanks! :)*

** By the way, I gotta tell you sumting, Jamie did *that thing* to her hair, now its all straight, and she's lost her cavewoman look, but nvm haha, now she will get more irritated if I mess wif her hair cuz she sat for 3 hours to do *that thing* to her hair. Btw the *that thing* she did to her hair is a different *that thing* that she did to the chicken during the chalet. If I'm not wrong, *that thing* which she did to the chicken was seasoning.**

See ya tmr!! My phone alarm rang, but I switched it off and went back to bed. Hehe doink~~
Okay, here is my OBS experience. It was really cool, and I made many new friends and learnt a lot of new things (cooking rice) hehe, but I burnt the rice aniwae. :P
The 1st day going there, the only person I was familiar with was Nansi, who ended up in another watch. We got there and got split inot our respective watches. Keith and Lik Man were in my watch. I knew Keith, but not very well yet at that time. Lik Man, I din noe who he was but he seemed to know me well. There was a mother big group of TJ people in the watch, I tot, and I wasnt very sure how they would be like. But they won me over with their easy demeanor and were very fun to get along with. Soon there was hardly a trace of evidence that we were from different schools.
So we learnt how to belay and rock climb. We were in Mobile, meaning we got to sleep in tents and all that. The tents werent easy to set up man..Whew a lot of mother rocks needed to set it up. But the tent was very cosy and easy to sleep in. For the 1st nite. Only 2 guys in my tent. Keith and me. Hahah, everyone had either 3 or 4 people in their tent. Whoa! Cool or not?? (^.^)
Just had CIP these 2 days. Yesterday and today in Clementi and Bendemeer respectively. Had to teach kids to play ball. I tried. Haha, but ended up playing all vs me in the end. Very cute! :) They are very nice and fun, except for the few rowdy ones who get on your nerves. I managed to find some common ground with those difficult ones, and they got more comfortable wif me, so they stopped making things difficult for me. :) Haha, I gtg now. Got my TV show coming on soon. See you tomorrow!!

Haha, sorry again, one month has passed again before I update this blog!! Ohyioh!! Well, now I'm gonna be more involved in this, so rest assured that I'll update it more frequently now okae?? (^.^) Anyway a lot to say.... firstly my feelings!
Haha, time really realli flies! One month passed so quickly!! I hope the hols will pass more slowly, so I have more time to enjoy it. Frankly speaking, when i was schooling, I always tot about how cool it would be to be at home and see the morning atmosphere, to see the sun rise at home rather than watching it rise when I'm singing the national anthem in the netball court for school assembly every morning. Also to see the kindergarten kids go to school and hear them laugh... it's really veri relaxing. :) But now, darn I'm waking up so late that the sun's overhead by the time I brush my teeth. I shall keep a mental note to wake up earlier a few days per week. :)
Then...I gotta tell you about my experience in OBS!! Whoa it was so so cool! There was hardship too! But I managed to make the hard parts of the trip very fun! ;P Hehe, not to mention that I had a lot of friends in my watch to share the fun with! :) It was from the 10th to 15th November I tink...hmm.....nono, it started on the 11th! Sorry, its very late now and I am getting doinky~~ I'll share my OBS experience with you in tomorrows blog, remind me ok?
Hmm...then the next big thing was SAT, which was over last saturday, oh I mean yesterday! See?? Doink~~ It was quite tough, especially the verbal (english) section, with many 'big' words. Whoa! But the maths part was more fun, cuz I didnt scratch my head as much as in the english section. Woo, but 3 hours in the hall?? My goodness that was stifling! And the dude in front of me kept tilting his head back and combing the back of his hair. Yes, there was dandruff on my table. Felt like banging his head with my pencilbox (the vince carter one) like what I did to Zhu when she *piaked* me in the morning to say hi. *doink* (^.^) If only the maths promos were as easy as the SAT maths, then maybe I can do better than an F grade. :D Oh! There's somebody I gotta thank for helping me in my SAT preps, which started 3 days before the SAT day. Haha, thanks a lot Cynthia, your tutorme.com was veri useful, especially at the maths part, it helped me save quite a few minutes. The tips were very helpful too!~ *Thanks* (^.^)
A lot of things to say, but I wanna sleep now, its 2am in the morning, and I wanna watch the sun rise tomorrow morning, which is in 5 and a half hours. Haha, nite nitez! I'll continue tomorrow! :) Cya!

Oh man...I totally forgot I had a blog till Allton just ICQed me that he read my blog and said something about 'frequent updating'. Yo Kumontoy, I updated it liao (^.^). Aniwae, just kinda surprised how fast time flies since the last time I wrote a blog. 23 days have passed since Promos ended!!! My goodness! I think playing all those warcraft games have sped up my clock. But it was fun...
Tomorrow morning I have to do CIP...damn...cuz there's NBA at 9am between the Wizards and the Lakers, my 2 favourite teams! But, well, I get to help out old folks, so I'll still be happy. Aniwae there's a repeat telecast at night, so don't you SMS me the score before I watch the game tomorrow night, don't spoil the fun ok? :)
Oh...I haven't told you guys the marks yet....well, here it goes.
Econs: B (yay...)
Maths: F (f***...)
Physics: E (whew...)
Computing: O (Oh well...)
That mean...........*drumroll*..........I CAN GET PROMOTED!!! Whoa!! :)

Though I kinda screwed up my promos, I think I tried quite hard for it already, and the problem could be time management and wrong methods. Gotta buck up this holidays and re-go thru my J1 stuff.
Tomorrow I'm gonna start to update my web page again. Hey guess what, people actually visit my website!!! I think Darren's webcourt could do some restructuring, and I have to download Frontpage again, since I deleted it the last time my computer conked out. Well cya! Well, they ended on monday 3 days ago. So happy its over, so sad its so difficult... :( Computing was bad...real bad....so was maths. Computing still requires me to hand up the Access project. I must do my best to get 8/10 for that project, please man....but its so difficult. :( Maths was really hard. Mr. Ho said it was like TYS standard, yeah right! University TYS standard maybe. My first page was ok, but then secong page onwards, I skipped many questions and i dunno just how many marks I can get. I skipped maybe 40 marks!! Almost like computing where I skipped also around 40 marks!! Computing was because I did not do the search algorithms and etc...wah lau....
My only source of promo comfort is Econs. It was ok, the essay was alright, just that I'm not sure if distinguish is to campare and contrast, or just contrast. So for the essay I give myself maybe 15/25, then my Case Study wsa also ok, maybe 16/25....DRQ was slightl tricky, but I think I won't do that badly for DRQ, maybe 14/20, and MCQ was good...maybe 25/30. Add up = 70/100! A! *PLEASE GIVE ME AN A FOR ECONS!!!!!*

Hilo! I was 'sick' almost half the school days this term. Studying supposedly, but my efficiency is quite low, but it helped a LOT!

Today's physics paper was a head-whacker man, so darn difficult, and I skipped almost 30 marks!! No time, 45 minutes on Section A, started Section C with 15 minutes to go....my goodness...but hopefull i can get a C, ie 50+%, if my SecA gets 18marks, SecB 22marks and SecC damage control 10 marks...*please give me a C* :)

Tomorrow's a long day with econs and computing till 4pm, computing is a bit wobbly and i gotta go through my computing notes during the break, I aim for A for econs, must try to get S-paper for econs, coz I've got a feeling I might go into econs in future. Computing go for a B, hope I can get it.

Wahaha, almost 36 hours to semi-freedom! It seems like S means Super for the future. Originally I was thinking of taking at most 1 S-paper, so it'd be something like a buffer kind of plan. But now....I made up my mind! I'm gunning for 2 S-papers! Difficult part is, the studying and stuff like that... :(
I've done the plan for promos, with only the computing subject that requires filling in of chapters. 6 weeks is a short time, that leaves me with like one and a half weeks per subject. Gotta chiong!! (^.^)
Tonight features the HOT match between Chelsea and Man U! Darn...only 7 weeks to promos...I think.. :) anyway, i'm taking tonite easy...because from tomorrow onwards, its the express train to chug for my promos. I really hope to do well for my promos....hm...aims? 2As and 2Bs and an A for GP would be really good for me. I dunno if I want to take S papers coz they really suck up time but for the sake of scholarships...I dunno? Should I? Well, focuz on the promos first lah.
Then today, training was not that tough, and one thing I'm really happy about is that the team has improved the court play. Bar a few mistakes from Marvin, Chang Loo and Chen Xin, it was good stuff. Hopefully this type of improvement continues and by November...heh heh... we have a capable team.
The talk today really change the way I look at it, but anyway, what he said is true to some extent. See how it goes. EPL is on tonight. I betted on Man U minus 2.5 and 2 goals for the Leeds match! We ended skool at 10am today, and i skipped the program in skool and played bball in the court with jiun haur etc. still feeling sick and cant stretch my legs much, and lost 0-7 in jiun haur in 1-on-1. but its ok, sickness is my excuse. he's not gonna have such an easy time the next time round. then we went for movie. Austin Powers 3! but when we reached orchard, the place was jam packed with other students who finished skool earlier also! man....
So we ate lunch at Cine b4 going to cuppage for pool. i pooled for about 1 and 1/2 hours, then went to play lan for 2 hours, then pooled again for one hour. whew! marathon fun! but...darn we missed the 5.30 show for austin powers! so we went for the 6.30 show at plaza sing. sold out! but man were we lucky when we waited for the uncollected reservations. there were only 3 left! and we got them!!!! hahahha! but when we went inside, it wasnt full. I got a feeling we got faked. >:(
Austin Powers was such a funny show. Next show i feel like watching is Signs, heard its good.
But...sigh...after Natl. Day, i have to start preparing for the promos. I wanna get at least 2 As and 2 Bs and A1 for GP. aiming for S-paper..but i dunno which subject to take S-paper for. We juz didn't play well. Hopefully, and surely, the team will get stronger so that we can seriously challenge for the title next year. My current gut feeling now of the team (as of now) is that we rank around beween no. 8-9. By December i really hope, and will work very hard, to reach a gut feeling ranking of 4-6. Then for next year, we'll all chiong for a ranking of top 3. Aim for next year: FINALS! it might look daunting, but let me say, i tink if we work hard, and have excellent work attitude and team spirit, there's nothing we cant overcome.
Mental Note: Practise Darren XP edition shooting, and expand shooting range to 3 point line, and hit 60% accuracy for the 50 shots thing.
